Buy wholesale: products, grades, pricing and private label

By Mohamad Sinno, Charcoal Expert ·

There are two ways to buy from this factory: in our box, or in yours. Both start at one full container, both price the charcoal by the ash ceiling you contract to, and the branding adds nothing to the price line either way. This page sets the two side by side and hands you to the page that owns each answer.

Export desk at work
A dangerous-goods consignment travels with a document set that has to be right before the booking is accepted, so the paperwork is prepared alongside the cargo rather than after it.

Two ways to buy from the factory

Route Who takes it The box Your mark on it Minimum What sets the date
Our box
The product, grade by grade
Every shape and size, in the catalogue
You are buying charcoal and reselling it, or filling an existing brand you already print elsewhere. 1 kg and 500 g, in cube 25 and cube 26, with matching branded master cartons A sticker on the side panel carrying your company name and contact details. Nothing else on the box changes. 2 t per SKU Production only — no print step
Your box
Private label and OEM, end to end
You are launching or extending a brand and the packaging is part of the product. 1 kg, 0.5 kg, 250 g; others on request Your artwork, your dieline, no restriction on what appears on the box. Minimum 2 t per SKU (≈2,000 inner boxes or 200 masters at 1 kg) Production, with print alongside it — 2 weeks for a new design, 10 working days for one we have run before

The row worth pausing on is the last one. Print plates and setup for a new design are inside the quoted price, and so is the print surcharge, so the branding delta at the price line is zero on both routes. What branding actually costs you is a date, not a figure — and only on a design nobody has printed yet.

What "grade" means here, since it does not mean what it means elsewhere

Search this product and you will find tier tables — Platinum, Super Premium, Premium — laid out as though they were separate product lines. On this site a tier is an ash ceiling you contract to, verified batch by batch against the COA that travels with the goods. It is one line of charcoal with a measured range, and the tier you buy is a promise about the ceiling rather than a different material. Reports measured to date fall within the Diamond band; every tier's ash ceiling is contractual and verified by the batch COA.

Tier Ash ceiling USD/t, full packaging USD/t, bulk
Diamond 1.2–1.6% 1900 1820
Platinum 1.6–1.9% 1800 1720
Super Premium 1.9–2.3% 1750 1670
Premium 2.3–2.5% 1700 1620
Regular 2.5–3.0% 1650 1570

Basis FOB Tanjung Priok, USD per tonne. Prices valid September 2026 · reviewed monthly. These prices are indicative and dated, not an offer. A binding figure comes on a proforma invoice against your shape, size, packaging and destination.

That grid is published because a buyer cannot plan against a price they have to ask for. What it is not is a quotation: it carries a month and a review cadence precisely so you can see how old it is. How a quote is built takes it apart line by line — what the packaging split means, what moves the number, and the arithmetic on a full container.

Master cartons stacked
The master carton is the unit that customs, the carrier and the buyer’s warehouse all count, which is why its dimensions and net weight drive both the packing list and the container plan.

What a first order looks like

In order, with the page that owns each step. Two of them have no first-party clock and say so rather than borrowing one.

  1. 1. A sample, and a COA with it

Free, 1–10 kg, dispatched within 2 working days. A batch COA accompanies every sample. Paid by the recipient — charcoal is UN 1361 Class 4.2 and cannot travel as an ordinary parcel.

    How the free sample works

  2. 2. Agree the specification

The ash ceiling you contract to sets the price and nothing else does. Shape and size decide what a container loads, so they are a commercial decision as much as a product one.

Shapes, sizes and what each one loads

  3. 3. Proforma invoice, then the deposit

50% T/T deposit against the proforma invoice. Payments only to the company account, whose name is the legal entity name.

    How a quote is built

  4. 4. Production

15 working days (20 ft) · 20 working days (40 ft). That is production only — it excludes packaging, quality control and vessel booking.

    How the briquettes are made

  5. 5. Printing, if the box is yours

2 weeks for a new design and 10 working days for one already on file, running alongside production rather than after it. On a house design there is no print step.

    Which clock finishes last

  6. 6. Booking as dangerous goods

The container is booked as UN 1361, Class 4.2, Packing Group III. Carrier acceptance is a real gate rather than a formality, and it is settled before the goods move.

    Which carriers accept charcoal

  7. 7. Loading, and the balance

balance against the B/L copy. The documents that travel with the container are settled at the same time.

The document set, and who issues each part

  8. 8. Transit, and arrival

Sailing time depends on your lane and we publish no band for it here. Your destination filings are country business, and each guide carries its own.

    Transit times from Indonesia

Cube briquette, macro
Cube is the standard shisha format and is specified by edge length in millimetres, with piece count per kilogram following directly from that dimension.

The minimum, and why it is a container

1 × FCL (20 ft or 40 ft), and inside it a 2 tonnes per shape, size and packaging variant. Those are two different rules and they are worth keeping apart: the container is the floor for the order, the two tonnes is the floor for each thing in it. A first container can carry several shapes and formats; it cannot carry a hundred kilos of one of them.

The reason is not policy, it is the cargo. Charcoal ships as dangerous goods, and shipping lines do not accept it as a part load — a point three other Indonesian suppliers state on their own public terms pages, in their own words, as a fact of the trade rather than a preference. What a container holds depends on the shape:

Shape 20 ft 40 ft
Cube 25 mm, 26 mm 20 t 26.5 t
Cube 27 mm, 28 mm 19.5 t 26.5 t
Hexagonal, stix, octagonal, flat/brix 18.5 t 26.5 t
Dome Not measured Not measured

Dome is pressed here but no dome load has been measured, so its cells are empty rather than estimated. Tonnes per container, by shape. The sizes within each shape are listed in the catalogue of every shape and size we press.

Container truck at the bay
Loading a container at the factory rather than at a container yard means the cargo is stuffed once, by the people who packed it, and moves as a sealed unit from there.

Start with the free sample

Nothing on this page is worth as much as a kilo of the material in your own hands, tested by your own lab or burned on your own head. Free, 1–10 kg, with the batch COA that lets you check what you were sent against what was measured. Samples ship by air as declared dangerous goods through our DG forwarder; availability depends on the destination country; for the USA, confirm case by case with the export desk; delivery cost is on the buyer.

Two things worth knowing before the first container rather than after it. Within 7 days of receipt; after that the goods are deemed accepted — which lands sooner than most first-time importers expect, and is a reason to have someone ready to open cartons on arrival; the quality guarantee sets that window out in writing. And the factory is open to visitors: Monday to Saturday in working hours, with a video walk-through if the flight is not worth it yet. How to verify a factory, including this one.

Our commercial terms accurate as of September 2026; prices carry their own review stamp above. Market conventions cited on this site are dated and belong to the sources named beside them, never to us.

Ask for the sample, or the quote

Tell the export desk the shape, the size, roughly the volume and whether the box is yours or ours. That is enough for a proforma. If you are not there yet, ask for the sample instead — it costs you the freight and nothing else.
